Please DO NOT call our office to inquire if we have received your application. If you sent your application by Priority, Express, Registered or Certified mail via the United States Postal Service or Next-Day Delivery by a third party commercial carrier, you can use those tracking numbers to determine date of delivery.

Once all applications have been received and entered into our database, an email (check your spam/junk mailbox) will be sent verifying receipt of your application as follows:

February Exam: No later than January 3.
July Exam: No later than June 1.

After the dates listed above, if you did not receive an email, check your spam/junk mailbox. If no email was received, fax a request for application receipt verification to 804-367-0416. Include your name, address, phone number, email address, last 4 of your social security number and signature.

Bar Exam Instructions, giving you VERY IMPORTANT details in regard to the upcoming bar exam will be available as follows:

February Exam: On or about January 1.
July Exam: On or about June 1.

July Exam: Laptop Registration begins on the second Wednesday of June.

Please Note: All timely filed applicants who have met the educational requirements as set forth in the Rules of the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners are eligible to sit for the Virginia Bar Exam (unless you are under disbarment or suspension in any jurisdiction to which you are admitted). NO ADMISSION TICKETS ARE REQUIRED to enter the Virginia bar exam – but you MUST bring a Photo ID bearing your full legal name.
