Virginia State Bar Reinstatement General Information
A candidate seeking reinstatement to the Virginia State Bar, whose Petition for Reinstatement has been approved by the Supreme Court of Virginia, conditioned upon passing the written portion of the Virginia Bar Exam, may access an Application for Reinstatement to the Virginia State Bar.
A candidate seeking readmission to the Virginia State Bar after resignation in accordance with Pt. 6, § IV, Para. 13-25(C) must apply to the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners, satisfy the character and fitness requirements, and either pass the written portion of the Virginia Bar Exam or meet all eligibility requirements for admission without examination under Rule 1A:1. Before being readmitted to the Bar, the former Attorney must also satisfy any membership obligations that were delinquent when the former Attorney resigned.
